Best Powerstroke Exhaust
Fits 1999-2007 7.3L and 6.0L
I have owned a lot of Powerstrokes in all my years of driving and in fact my very first new vehicle I ever bought was a 99 Super Duty with the coveted 7.3L Powerstroke engine. I took a lot of pride in that truck but there weren’t nearly as many aftermarket parts available for diesel trucks back then.
One of the first things I did was install a programmer on the truck to up the horse power. If you own a diesel truck you know the tuner is one of the first things most people do, I had more power but it is never enough. I wanted the truck to sound better as well as optimize the performance as much as I could.
My options were limited and the nicest kit I could find was offered by MBRP. I bought their 4” turbo back straight pipe which sounded awesome for a couple days, I was young and thought I wanted my truck to be obnoxious and loud…. The first time I had to tow a trailer from Montana to Wyoming I called and ordered the muffler.
The fitment was PERFECT. I installed it in my driveway and couldn’t have been happier with my purchase. Over the years I traded up for the newest year make model 7.3 and my last 7.3 was a 2003 four door long bed. Each truck I bought I installed an aftermarket exhaust on, and I never bought the same brand twice. I have to say out of the 5 different 7.3’s I owned and the 5 different kits I installed on them, the Magnaflow exhaust sounded the best and was the easiest to install. The packaging was nice too and I didn’t have to beat dents out of any of the pipes in order to get them to fit properly.
If you own a Powerstroke Diesel and really want the nicest exhaust on the market, I have to recommend Magnaflow from my 8 years of personal experience installing every different brand available to us.
I now drive a 2005 F350 with the 6.0L engine, and I am running the Magnaflow on this truck as well.
I also have a 2014 F250 with the 6.7L Powerstroke and the options for exhaust are much more limited, I ended up going with the AFE stainless exhaust this time around and I was pleased with the fit and finish, I did however end up changing out the clamps. There was nothing wrong with the clamps that came with the kit, but I like the wide band style clamps personally.
